Strata Display + Organizer are a great way to store and showcase your small objects of value. They make wonderful jewlery organizers with varying scale spaces to display rings, necklaces, watches, and bracelets. They also make great desk organizers to hold business cards, small pads of paper, notes, and paper clips. Strata also looks great as a sculpture seated or standing all on its own!
Strata's form was created in the computer using 3-Dimensional Software, then printed with our in house 3D printer. We then made a mold of the form with rubber and finally cast the piece out of our specialty blend concrete. The unique texture the 3D printer gives the form is an element we love and embrace in this product. It shows our process, how this piece was created layer by layer just as the topography of great mountains. For this reason we call it STRATA.
Co-designed with the talented and lovely Katherine Kania.

Dimensions: 12.25" L x 7.5" W x 2.25" H
Materials: Specialty blend concrete
List Price: $200

For the serious food enthusiast. Inspired by centuries-old traditional woodworking techniques and geometry. Solid wood cutting boards made from select dark American Walnut and Hard Maple. Each piece meticulously handcrafted to be smooth as stone. Finished with food safe mineral oil.
Excellent for chopping, slicing, and serving it up.
Made in small runs out of our studio and woodshop located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Care Instructions:
Wash with hot soapy water after each use and dry with a clean towel or let air dry. If you want to sanitize the board more thoroughly, a diluted mixture of chlorine bleach or vinegar solution consisting of one teaspoon of liquid chlorine bleach in one quart of water or a one to five dilution of vinegar.
Do not soak or submerge the board in water, for this will disrupt the moisture content and cause the board to split or warp. Wood cutting boards are NOT dishwasher safe.
Store your wood cutting board on end to dry if it is damp. Or if it is already dry, store flat in a dry area away from extreme hot or cold temperatures.

It is extremely important to give your cutting board a good oiling on all surfaces every 3-4 weeks. Your INSEK board comes pre-oiled which protects and prolongs the life of your board. We recommend keeping the board oiled with Mineral Oil or baby oil as often as every few uses. When the cutting board becomes dry and lighter in color, you know that the time has come to re-oil your board.

With a minimum amount of care and maintenance, you can lengthen the life of your INSEK board by many years.

Etsy Headquarters in Brooklyn New York commissioned IN.SEK to design and build fourteen custom pieces of furniture for their new reception area in Dumbo. We worked closely with the Etsy team to design furniture that would be cool, fun, moveable, multi-functional, sustainable, and pay homage to the history of New York. The results of many design iterations was trapezium shaped seating and tables made of locally sourced reclaimed Spruce. The modular shapes lend themselves to several different configurations that seem almost limitless, and the materiality of the rustic weathered wood create a harmonious juxtaposition against the modern forms. In the space they function as "cluster" seating where several different groups can converge and talk as well as display shelving and tables to feature products from Etsy sellers.

Dimensions: approx. 18" High x 29" Long x 21" Wide x 1.5" Thick
Materials: Reclaimed Spruce locally sourced from NYC

A special thank you to my team on this project: Preston Church and Jaqueline Hon

GWYNETT STREET, a local Williamsburg restuarant known for their exceptional food and service asked IN.SEK to come up with a coffee station for their restaurant. We were happy to visit with the owners to listen to all of their needs and design and build a beautiful piece of furniture that blends seemlessly in with the existing furniture and ambiance of the space, while providing a functional station built out of solid red oak that will last for years to come.

Special thanks to David Gaynor.

Composed of thick chunky slabs of local New York City reclaimed Antique Pine, Topo Table is a sectional topography suspended below the stone-smooth table top surface. The end grain of the Antique Pine forms this dense table top and offers its unique presence with striking circular wood grain patterns that effortlessly weave together to create one large solid work of art. The overall arching topography aims to strike a balance between the piece's weight and its structural rigidity.
